What We Do
We apply high-quality surface coatings that meet your expectations
Our experience in the coating industry gives us the ability to determine cost-effective processes, meet your exact specifications, and improve the performance of your parts. Our team will work with you to determine your part’s coating requirements including non-stick, abrasion resistant, corrosion or rust resistant, dry lubricated, or food grade. We coat parts from small manufacturing companies to major OEM’s including Case New Holland, Bobcat, Raymond Corporation, and Price Industries. We apply high-performance specialty coatings including:

Teflon™ coatings
Protek uses Teflon™ coatings on carbon steel, aluminum, stainless steel, steel alloys, brass, and magnesium, as well as non-metallics such as glass, fiberglass, some rubber, and plastics. We obtain optimum adhesion by roughening the surface before applying the coating. Except when specifically mentioned, most of these coatings require a primer coat.
Protek applies specialized coatings. We apply products such as PTFE, FEP, ETFE, PFA, Nylon, Halar, Protekote and a variety of other coatings. Pro-Tek Surface Technologies is a Licensed Industrial Applicator of Teflon™ and has also been certified by Whitford University in the application of Xylan and Xylar coatings.

Coating properties and special coating systems
Contact our engineers for more information on Teflon™ and Fluoropolymer coating properties and our special coating systems
Once the Fluoropolymer has worn off, you can easily re-coat it. We’ve successfully re-coated many items such as fusion faces, heat sealing bars, and heater plates.

Powder coatings
Protek handles small- to medium-run powder coating. Surface preparation ranges from five-stage phosphate wash, chromate conversion, or grit blasting depending on your specifications. We also offer masking and plugging solutions – simple or custom. We provide quotes within 24 hours and provide five-day turnaround times for production runs.
Large stock of powders and access to many different suppliers. Many years experience in preparing panels and paperwork for first article inspections. We work with you to establish inspection methods and suit demands.

Thermoplastic coatings
We apply these coatings as our best outdoor weathering coatings. Some properties of this coating are good UV stability, excellent corrosion resistance, improved abrasion resistance for longer product life, high impact resistance, and good dielectric resistance.
Uses include: Playground equipment, fire hydrants, dishwasher tubs, bumpers, push bars, roll bars, etc.

Bakeware coatings
Protek offers many bakeware coatings perfect for different temperatures and different product ingredients. The result is higher release bakeware, ensuring greatly reduced item wash schedules (easy clean up) and product release from the pan, reducing wasted and/or broken product.
High-release bakeware coatings also cut down the use of messy oil-based spray release products that will transfer residue to ovens and other equipment as well as your food product. As a result, your product avoids excess fat.
Our bakeware re-coating has a higher cost efficiency compared to glazing with the ability to handle high-volume industrial pans, straps, muffin tins, hoppers, cutters, and chutes, and we provide a five-day turnaround on most orders.
Our coatings are FDA approved.

Oil & gas coatings
We apply our proprietary ProTekote P5000 to parts and fittings used in the oil & gas industry, including nipples, tees, elbows, flanges, check valves, bull plugs, bushings, couplings, swages, fasteners, threaded rod, and pipe hangars.
ProTekote P5000 coatings offer excellent corrosion resistance and improved abrasion resistance for longer product life. In addition, these coatings provide excellent non-stick properties for applications.

Waterworks coatings
Protek has vast experience in applying coatings for pipe and pipe fitting applications. These coatings can range from fusion-bonded epoxies to Teflon™ coatings.
We have knowledge in applications from drinking water to waste water.
Protek will also work to meet your specification needs.
Pharmaceutical coatings
Protek’s pharmaceutical coatings are FDA-approved coatings that help solve an array problems that can arise in pharmaceutical manufacturing. Anywhere ingredient build up can occur and low friction is required we have a solution for you. Uses include: heat sealing bars, blister pack dies, gel cap wedges, loading chutes, and hoppers.
